Allah Subhanuhu WaTaala says in Quran in Surah Tauba, Ayah 18
The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day.
Prophet Muhammad (S A W) said, whoever builds a mosque in order to please Allah, Allah will build a house for him in Jannah. (Bukhari and Muslim)
